AI Art Galleries

Since 2023, Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College has been showcasing the creative work of Year 8 students in this evolving series of AI art exhibitions. Each gallery brings together analogue and digital creativity, pairing student drawings with their AI-generated counterparts.

Inspired by Shaun Tan’s The Lost Thing, students began by illustrating imagined creatures made from everyday objects. These artworks were then reinterpreted using AI tools, with students crafting prompts and applying filters to remix their original designs.

The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the role of AI in the creative process and explores the potential of human–machine collaboration in contemporary art making.
