AI Art and Metaverse Workshop
As part of the Reddam House Creative and Cultural Arts Festival, Year 6 students participated in an AI art workshop that blended traditional techniques with digital innovation. Drawing inspiration from the Impressionists, students created original pastel artworks that explored light, movement, and expressive mark-making.
These drawings were then reimagined using AI tools, inviting students to experiment with the creative potential of generative technology while reflecting on the evolving role of artists in the digital age. The process encouraged thoughtful engagement with ideas of authorship, transformation and storytelling.
The final artworks are showcased in a curated virtual gallery, with each pastel drawing displayed alongside its AI remix. The galleries are built on a Metaverse platform and are experienced with an avatar, offering a dynamic window into student creativity and collaboration.
The workshop was led by Dr Jessica Priebe, from the National Art School, and founder of Artverse Lab—a creative education studio that brings together traditional art making and emerging technologies through immersive workshops, digital exhibitions and collaborative learning experiences.
